Are games rained out?
Check your association’s website, call your coach, or check the information you received during sign up for a hotline number.
The City of Forney Parks and Recreation Department will evaluate field conditions and notify each association no later than 3pm if fields are not playable.
Field Conditions & General Rules
- If you walk on a skinned surface (infield) and leave footprints, the field is not playable.
- If you walk on a grass surface and water is visible as you step (squishy), the field is not playable.
Note: It is vital to err on the side of caution for practicing or playing when the field is unsafe or can be damaged.
Reserve a Field
Ball field reservations are taken online CLICK HERE TO RESERVE A FIELD . Phone calls, email and walk-in reservations are not accepted. Reservations may be made 7 days in advance and no later than 1 day in advance. Reservations may be made by a coach or parent. Fifty percent (50%) of the youth using the facility, recreational and selected groups combined must reside in the City of Forney or reside in the Forney School District. Coaches or parents requesting a reservation must submit a Field Use Application along with a current official team roster showing each player’s physical residence. If your team is not registered with the local sports organization (MESA, FYBA, or FSA) you must provide a copy of your certificate of liability insurance. Priority for field reservations will go to select/club/academy teams and the general public (family play/birthday parties). Any fields remaining will be available for teams registered with the local youth associations.
Adult Softball Games
Adult Softball and Adult Kickball will have games on Mulberry Park field 1. Field 1 can be reserved for Wednesdays and Sundays.
Lights & Payment Instructions
Note: Ball field lights are done in 2 hour blocks. They are $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. Payment is due at the time of your online reservation request.
