Of Note:

  • Staff recommends all applicants have a pre-application meeting with the City of Forney’s Development Review Committee (DRC).  DRC meetings are held each Tuesday morning.  The purpose of the pre-application meeting is to discuss the development process from the initial application to project completion.  The DRC consists of staff from all City review departments.
  • All residential plats are subject to review by the City of Forney Parks and Recreation Board.  This is to ensure compliance with the City of Forney Codes and Ordinances related to park land dedication. 
  • Listed meeting dates are not guaranteed and could be rescheduled for different days and/or times.
  • Attendance at board meetings is required for all applicants (a project representative may attend for the applicant).  
  • Applications involving properties located within the City of Forney Historic Overlay Zone may be subject to review by the Architectural Review Board (ARB).  City staff will contact you with further information if ARB review is required.  
  • Minor plats, amending plats and miscellaneous minor plan changes may be approved by staff and do not follow the above development schedule.  Please contact staff to discuss the requirements and procedures for administrative approval of these items.
