After careful consideration, the City of Forney will not host events for the remainder of 2020. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, cancelling remaining events scheduled for this year has been determined to be the best course of action for the safety of citizens and city staff. Also, the financial commitments and time required to plan city events are a serious logistical challenge given the unpredictable nature of the coronavirus.
In addition, the Trace Adkins concert scheduled for September 26, 2020, will be postponed until May 14, 2021. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new date, or refunds will be available at the point of purchase. Please visit SpellmanAmp.com for more information.
In response to this postponement, JAC Management, the management company responsible for booking acts for the Spellman Amphitheater, and the City of Forney will amend their five-year contract. JAC Management will ensure that a minimum of 32 acts will be booked for the Spellman Amphitheater throughout the agreement, which is one more than the 31 acts originally agreed upon.
“All of us in the City are disappointed with the need to cancel the remaining events in 2020, but we are committed to ensuring that the 2021 event schedule will be the best the City has offered," stated City Manager Tony Carson.
